How you can help
The Montreal Ronald McDonald House invites you to participate in our Share-a-Meal project, a way to help parents of sick children who are going through difficult times. Some parents experience periods of exhaustion while they’re staying at the House because of the seriousness and/or the length of their child’s illness. They spend long hours with them in intensive care, waiting for a transplant, through chemotherapy treatments and more. They don’t always have the energy to take care of themselves and sometimes their financial resources are slim. A nice hot meal can mean a lot to them.
We invite you to prepare a meal for our families once a month or every other month; it’s up to you. If you are interested in the project, phone us; we’ll help you plan the dates and the menu.
The Montreal Ronald McDonald House has 50 rooms, which means 50 families per day. We have two shared kitchens and dining rooms as well as an outdoor patio with a barbecue. To prepare a meal here, you should expect to be serving about 50 portions. The meal can be prepared ahead of time at your home, here in our kitchens, or you can have it delivered.
How to get involved:
Call us at 514 731-2871 to let us know you wish to provide a meal, and we’ll tell you how many guests to expect that day. You must fill out the participation form and send it to us as soon as possible. Specify what you plan to serve and if you will need our kitchen to prepare it. You must bring all the ingredients you need, as well as disposable plates, utensils and glasses.
